Um, I'm not going to tread in the same old OO/anti-OO exercise but I
can't quite let this go.

I'd recommend finding and reading a good book on relational database
design.

Every time you type INNER JOIN or UNION or NOT EXISTS(SELECT...) you're
doing "set theory programming."
