This subject just came up on the Mach-II mailing list: http://groups.google.com/group/mach-ii-for-coldfusion/browse_thread/thread/d30ff469f5042505
Here's a link to my post on the Session Facade with ColdFusion: http://www.iknowkungfoo.com/blog/index.cfm/2007/2/12/Using-a-Session-Facade-to-handle-evolving-session-variables I think I'll delve further into a few approaches using this object. We used a series of Session Facades on the Unitrin Specialty site in order to streamline our rewrite project and I can't imagine getting the applications wired together without them. Let me know if you have any questions, Adrian ---------------------------------------- From: "John Whish" <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, January 21, 2009 8:50 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [CFCDEV] Re: encapsulate session scope? Hi Bob, Yes the "session façade" solution is one that I've seen promoted in a book (actually for PHP but as no-one has really written a ColdFusion OO book yet!) I can see the benefits, but it does also seem overkill if you only have one object directly accessing the scope.
