We do about 80,000 emails regularly each is about 35k and bust the run into chunks of 2000's with a 15 minute wait between batches. We shorten this to 10 min after midnight. This uses a lot of our bandwidth and chokes the ISP's mailservers. We used to get nasty phone calls from the ISP until we adopted this strategy. This doesn't appear to be a CF issue at all, more a capacity/throughput problem.

I vaguely remember someone saying that 5000 was the upper limit. I have a client that wants to send out approximately 10,000 e-mails to their customer base. I was planning to make a scheduled task that runs every half hour that sends out a 1000 at a time while updating the database as SENT on every successful e-mail. Or can I just let it loop through all the 10,000 e-mails. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. - You are subscribed to the CFUGToronto CFTALK ListSRV.
