[CFTALKTor] Odd occurance with Date field

Run across a strange occurance with dates.   We have a list that contains dates. We need to change these dates to reflect the date of recommendation. However it now comes across that whenever a 2001 entry is updated ( even without changing the date field) to date field changes to 2002.   The coding for updating is a simply update query.   Anyone have this happen to them?
