Hey,
did anyone else find that Ben's reply to the note below was not shown in the
body of the message but instead in an attachment that you had to open? I've
never seen that before. I only noticed it because the "autopreview" feature in
Outlook showed the first few lines being:
----
As per
the search engine finding dynamice pages. What if you had a 200 member directory
system where each account was referenced by ".../index.cfm?accountID=54"
?
-----
But
when I opened the email, all I saw was Gustavo's previous note that he
(Ben) was replying to. Indeed, if you look below you'll see that the note says
the From is "On Behalf Of
[EMAIL PROTECTED]",
but the note text is
Gustavo's comment about "major search engines". In case you missed it, here was
what Ben had written:
----
A
search engine is not going to find all the accounts, unless there are specific
links to them in your site.
I read
somehere that the best thing to do is create a 'shadow index' (or some term)
where by one page would house all the static links to your accounts so that an
engine would index each account (54 to 2000 or whatever.
I
would like to hear if anyone has used such a scheme or tell us what has worked
for you?
Ben
---- Curious. Anyone know how that might happen?
