Try putting in Admin for username and see if that corrects it. I just dug up the documentation. It is buried in the Release Notes.

(Windows only) You must provide a username for Microsoft Access and ODBC Socket Data Source Names (DSNs), even if the data sources do not require any user authentication. Provide a username as follows:
  • Access DSN - Select the Use Default Username option; OR show the Advanced Settings section and enter a username in the ColdFusion Username field.
  • ODBC Socket DSN - Select the Use Trusted Connection option; OR show the Advanced Settings section and, in the Username field, accept the default username (system) or enter a username.
Hope this works.

Hi Mike

You may want to try checking off the box that says "Use Default Username" if you are using the MS Access driver. That had me scratching my head also.

Subject: [CFTALKTor] Problems setting up Coldfusion MX database

Hi All,

I recently installed a version of coldfusion MX for testing on my machine.  I was running CF5 with access databases.  I am trying to connect my databases but I keep getting this error

Connection verification failed for data source: (datasource name)
[]java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your username, password, URL, and other connectivity info.
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException: SQLException occurred in JDBCPool while attempting to connect, please check your username, password, URL, and other connectivity info.

The databases don't have usernames or passwords?

The databases worked fine with CF5 has anyone else run across this error?

Thanks

Mike
