I am a Sys Eng and my group is responsible for maintaining a web site that displays
the performance metric that we collect from a production system. I have convenced my
team that it is a good idea to limit the number of languages that are used to create
the web site to one if possible. The choices are are down to two, Perl and C#. They
do not seem to understand my arguments for Perl. I point out the benifits of CPAN,
nature of the language itself, and how easy it is to get help. Thier arguments are
that they do not know Perl as well as me, and that some of our department has started
using .NET, so it would be a good idea for us to use it as well. I could go into
greater detail but I don't think it would help anyone put me, and this is not group
therapy. So if any of you know of some good direct comparisons, or have first hand
experience please let me know.

Thanks

Jay Flowers
