Just a note to the moderators, this issue has been taken care of.
Appologies to anyone who received any of these message.

For anyone who is interested, it was actually the fault of the phone
company (three.com.au). A colleague of mine setup phone alerts on his
real email account about 3 months ago, and turned it off a week later.
Now 3 months later, somehow the phone company turned on his alerts
again, but the destination address on their servers
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) is not configured anymore. So it is POPing
his real mail box, trying to send an email alert to an address that
they control, yet doesn't exist, and it is bouncing these 'already
delivered' messages. And he has no way of disabling it...

It has popped his entire email box (he uses IMAP so it contains about
600 saved messages from the last 6 months), and proceeded to bounce
all of these 600 messages, and any new incoming messages.

three.com.au doesn't know what is going on at their end (yay to
outsourcing call centers), so for now he has unsubscribed from the
list until this matter gets resolved.

Again, appologies to everyone.

Cheers,

Cees

ps I am responding for him, since he can not send to the list since he
is unsubscribed.
