I think that the book is a fantastic idea. The only suggestion I might add is that you might want to think in parallel terms of what examples/apps you'd like to use and build on as the book progresses. Another thing - a while back Michael Graham announced a pre-release of CGI::Application::Framework (http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/msg03533.html) I don't know where it's at, but if it's likely to be prod quality when you write your book, then it may be worthwhile covering. Although many C::A developers will have their own preferred framework, I certainly could have used something like C::A::F when starting out with C::A - it would have saved me from going down a few blind alleys.
