In my earlier comments I said that I expected mod_perl to be comperable to the
other persistent Perl methods in terms of memory usage. I would like to ammend
that:

I expect a properly-configured mod_perl to be comperable in memory usage to the
other persistent Perl methods. However, it's up to you to configure it
properly. Also, if other things are important to you (e.g. running under a
non-Apache environment) then it's up to you to make your decisions with that
stuff in mind.

I make this ammendment because the original question was regarding memory usage,
but since then other points (e.g. ease of configuration, usage under other
environments) has been raised.

In other words, Cees' comments are very well received by me.

Cheers,
Richard
