Hi Mark
I agree. I feel blindsided to learn I shouldn't be using MIME:Lite
(after dozens of uses over the years) in the way I just did. I
I disagree with your interpretation:
o Back when you started using it, it may well have been the best choice,
so I think you're being a bit hard on yourself over this
o OK, so it's been superseded, but so what? That's no reason in an of
itself to change. As long as it works for you, keep using it. Your
familiarity with it means you're productive with it. Switching would
mean re-learning an API (simple, true), but for what gain? If MIME::Lite
was failing to perform, ok, switch, but as it is, don't worry about it.
The complication now is the newly-discovered problems. OK - /that's/ a
reason to switch, but then, have you actually encountered these edge
cases? Possibly, and not known about it!
o But, since switching is comparatively easy, you might as well do it.
But my point is - switch for convenience, or to reduce risk perhaps, not
because you were really wrong to use MIME::Lite
o So, all I'm doing here is spelling out a train of thought on the
switch-or-not question. Over to you...
