Yo don't need to combine the 2 software technologies.

The DNS side of things could be kicked off by CGI input, and could write
its results to a db.

The CGI could query the db, for the 'current' request when finished, and
for any earlier results. Think search engine.

Repeat after me: Do not go for maximum complexity!
