Hey Terrence -- > that sounds like a good idea
I didn't mention this in my last message, but I've already written code like this. Two years ago my company worked on a project for a start-up company which was developing a Mason-based site. We were hired to develop a login and security system and a few applications, including a sophisticated web-based threaded discussion system. Our applications were all developed using the CGI::Application architecture, tying into HTML::Mason. It wasn't very difficult at all. We even extended our use of HTML::Template to allow Mason code to be included. > actually some other people on the Mason list wanted to use > Siracusa's framework so if there could be some sort of merging of > experiences and ideas, this would be a great thing.but the > question is where should such a discussion take place? > > how about a [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list? I think the Mason list would be a fine place for a discussion of integrating CGI-App and Mason. I've already started a discussion there. If people are interested, they will reply. Let's see if there is a real demand before we fracture off a bit of the community to another mailing list. >and it would be good for CGI::Application to be configurable >based on chosen templating system Already supported! Create a custom super-class and override load_tmpl() to use whatever templating system you prefer. Users here are already using different system as they desire. (I still, personally, prefer HTML::Template, however.)
