Thanks to Grant's pointer I replaced a call to synchronizeWidget()
with synchronizeSoon(), which avoids the whole C++-obj-deleted-out-
from-under-wxWidgets issue.
So now I am checking in the new Markup Bar code, although there are
still a few issues that remain:
(a) the buttons are drawn with a white background
(b) the buttons are spaced apart, filling the space in the bar
rather than being "left-justified"
(c) when you click between two items that have different markup
states, the whole detail view blanks out for a second. At first I
thought the view was being drawn more slowly, but after a few
comparisons, it seems to be the same speed; it's just that the
blanking-out makes it more noticeable.
I will file three new bugs for these problems.
Thank you to everyone for their help with me learning my way around
the "Block" and getting this change landed!
