One of the many little changes we have been making lately with the
build/release for Chandler is to bring up to date the list of
supported platforms. I wanted to communicate to everyone what will
be changing over the next couple of days.
Linux Platform
We will be using Ubuntu as the official build platform starting
tomorrow (Friday June 9th 2006). What this means is that after the
weekend all continuous builds and any new checkpoints will be built
on Ubuntu. If you are currently running Chandler on older
distributions, like FC4 or even FC2, you may have trouble. Our
wonderful IT team have already updated alanui (full builds),
maunaloa (quick builds), qalinux (p_linux) and the linuxdev1
server. After I fix some last minute issues on alanui I will be
bumping the relver for all external projects and that will mark the
official switch-over point.
What version of Ubuntu are we officially switching over to?
