I think this is a good plan.

As previously discussed on the list, since the view merging code

comfortable with the stability of view merging, we'll tackle
stamping.
After talking about this with Morgen and Andi, we recommend that we
not tackle 'stamping merging' for Alpha3.
+ It lets us focus on stabilizing the rest of background sync,
particularly dealing with recurrence issues (which are tricky)
+ Tackling view merging of kind changes (or refactoring stamping to
avoid kind changes) would likely push out the Alpha3 schedule
rather dramatically
The consequence is that we'd have to live with stamping being
disabled for items once they are shared until Alpha4.
+ The office calendar will still work, with its stamped items.
+ We'll get background sync, perf improvements, and native intel
mac into dogfooders hands, mostly according to schedule. We'll slip
the schedule if we need to for recurrence or other stability problems.
Any objections?
Cheers,
Katie
