Hi,

I've been talking about Amaya informally to people in the past. I downloaded a new version today (9.5 for Mac OS X) and it's pretty nice (though I haven't done any deep testing, just a cursory edit of some HTML docs on my machine). See their site of course for more details:
   http://www.w3.org/Amaya/

Some interesting points:
- Amaya is free, open source and an interesting alternative to DreamWeaver - Amaya is developed by the W3C so their support for error checking and compliancy to standards is pretty good - Amaya is developed using wxWidgets! Well, that should interest a lot of us around here. You can see that their Mac OS X version has all the shortcomings that Chandler had a year ago (see their toolbar... aagh...). The good news is that here you have another massive desktop app using wx (and struggling with the same issues we have apparently). The bad news is that it doesn't look that they are investing in improving the widgets that much (but I might be wrong).

Anyway, just as a good DW alternative, it's pretty interesting on and of itself.

Cheers,
- Philippe
