I am all for this. For 0.7 I think it would be fine if we tell users how
they can use Cheeseshop and easy install to get those. For 0.8 and
beyond I would like to see a menu item that would do this automatically,
a la Firefox.

I would also go further and strip everything that is not strictly needed
to run Chandler (tests, tools, etc.). This would save almost 4 megs of
download size on Windows, probably more on OS X and Linux.
