I remember on the Mac people started using "…" (a single-character elipsis), but there was a good reason for not doing that. But ya, liek you said, minor.

The good reason is that the character for "more" is different in various languages. In a way, it's not really a punctuation character but a word (something with semantic meaning).

Unicode recognized the issue and now there is a Unicode character for this called "ellipsis expansion" that should be used in such cases (see http://www.unicode.org/reports/tr30/tr30-1.html). That's the correct locale friendly way of doing this.

I'm cc-ing the @dev list 'cause in translating Chandler in French, I've seen that there is indeed a "..." string used somewhere else and that should be changed. This is logged in bug 6723 (https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6723) along with other small i18n issues Markku and me found during our translation exercise.
