We made preliminary Preview (0.7) performance targets several months ago, but it would be time to revisit these. The current test cases we are concentrating on with their target times are shown at the top of this page (don't pay attention to the measured times in that table - they are very old): http://wiki.osafoundation.org/bin/view/Projects/PerformanceProject
Are these cases still the most relevant ones? Are the target times what we are committed to? Do you have another scenario where Chandler is working so slow that it is driving you nuts? I think I'd like to change the sharing test somewhat. Currently it shares a really small collection, and we used to measure against internal server with very fast bandwidth (we are currently measuring against osaf.us which is not on the internal network). I think I'd like to measure with some snapshot of the office calendar (maybe a sanitized version of it) and with a test server that is outside the internal office network. This way we should be getting numbers that are closer to real world use cases, which seems useful. -- Heikki Toivonen
