Some time ago, we identified that we would like to be able to point our dogfooders to some checkpoint of the desktop before Preview is released so they can help us find bugs and try out some of the new features. This enables us to get some early feedback that we can act on prior to Preview. Although we understand that you can currently download any build and start doing this, we would like to identify some build that we feel is stable enough and has some core fixes that would enable us to actively recruit new users and encourage current dogfooders such as Mitch, Esther, Davor and others to upgrade from Alpha4.

Mimi, Aparna and I have done a review of all the P1 and P2 bugs in bugzilla to isolate some subset that we think we need to fix in order to get this checkpoint. We are tagging them as blockers for 0.7. Many of these have been fixed over the course of the last week and there are currently only 2 bugs.

+ This is a recurrence issue and we made it a blocker simply because some of our core dogfooders have a lot of recurring events on their calendars.

+ This bug has to do with the conflict management dialog. We targeted as a blocker because we will be asking our dogfooders to spend some time trying to generate conflicts and test out these workflows and fixing this makes it less confusing.

+ This bug is for changing the OOTB configuration. We need to have this in place before we go out and recruit new dogfooders since the current setup is confusing. It also probably should have been done before we reached feature freeze.

Of course we will continue to use the blocker flag throughout 0.7, I just wanted to give people some context on how it's being used right at the moment - so we can get to this dogfood checkpoint build.

Cheers,
Sheila
