To follow up on Tuesday's status meeting
(http://wiki.osafoundation.org/Journal/AppsMeeting20070515), I'm
scheduling this technical discussion meeting reusing the "Geektalk"
moniker that we're not using anymore.
We'll be meeting in Gotham from 1:15pm to 2pm. For remote folks, we'll
be using "my" bridge (Dial in: 1-800-391-1709 : bridge 307035).
Here's the agenda:
* Commits and Notification: large commits create tons of
notifications and lock the UI. John proposed to block notifications for
a while. We'll discuss the issues of this ideas and alternative
strategies to avoid notification storms.
* Merges and Reindexing on Refresh: if time allows, we'll discuss the
a sibling issue of merges and reindexing on refresh that are the cause
of slowness.
Both issues are related to perf improvements. I created a wiki page
(http://wiki.osafoundation.org/Projects/GeekTalk051707) and will take
notes during the meeting.
Attendance to this meeting is not mandatory but, of course, highly
encouraged for all Chandler Desktop devs.
