As of rev 14905 Chandler starts a subscribe operation with OPTIONS rather than PROPFIND. If I get a chance I will look at also removing the HEAD request, but that might have to be post-Preview.

no need for that. just look for the DAV header in the initial GET. if
you happen to get a 501 on the initial get, then do a HEAD and examine
the DAV and Allow headers.

Well, it may be pretty time-consuming for the server to construct that .ics content. Why not send OPTIONS first?
