*Localization freeze*
Bear spins localization checkpoint:

Philippe explained that localizers can now start working on
localizations for the Preview release. Brian Kirsch is leading a
localization sprint at EuroPython in Lithuania. Python strings in the
code are used as keys for the translation, so ground rules:
- Removing a localized string from the code is ok -- an unused string in
the po won't break anything.
- Adding a localized string isn't great but is acceptable -- the string
will appear in English for all locales.
- Modifying a localized string is a problem and will be rolled back. To
change the en_US locale, edit the po.

*ChandlerTestLib and QAUITestAppLib*
Heikki requested that Jeffrey port a change in ChandlerTestLib to
QAUITestAppLib. Jeffrey proposed not making the change as it is not
required for performance tests. Heikki argued that discrepancies between
the libraries will cause problems (until we do whatever work is required
to get to 1 library). Mikeal gave more background, explaining that
getting down to 1 library requires work that won't be used by the 3rd,
newest framework. He proposed two options:
- keep porting fixes to QAUITestAppLib when required, until we can move
entirely to CATS 0.3 (post preview)
- write the code to make ChandlerTestLib check which framework it is in
and call the correct logger. This path is more work, riskier and
throwaway if we move entirely to CATS 0.3

*Office calendar error*
A problem was detected in the office calendar on Hub, the desktop app
couldn't subscribe or sync it. In tracking down what was going wrong,
Jared filed 2 server bugs and 2 desktop bugs.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/chandler-dev/2007-July/008530.html
Jeffrey identified the root problem as a desktop bug not sending the
correct EIM modification records. The other bugs involved dealing with
bad data more gracefully. Jeffrey introduced the problem in fixing
another bug.
http://lists.osafoundation.org/pipermail/chandler-dev/2007-July/008534.html
Jeffrey checked in fixes for the desktop bugs. New revisions should not
create problematic events, and new revisions seem to sync with the
office calendar appropriately. Old revisions shouldn't cause too much of
a problem, but dogfooders should upgrade when we have a new checkpoint.

*Remove RunChandler scripts*
Bear asked for the ok to go ahead and remove RunChandler. RunPython will
remain available for developers (./release/RunPython -O Chandler.py).
Otherwise the functionality is handled by the launchers
(./chandler[.sh|.bat|.exe]). Heikki, Grant, John and Dan +1.

*distrib/docs*
Katie asked Bear about distrib/docs, looking to figure out what needs to
be done for Preview.

*EuroPython*
Brian Kirsch gave a report from EuroPython. He gave a lightning talk
about Chandler, a presentation on Internationalization in Python, and
was preparing for a localization sprint.
