At the end of bug council, we're at 10 desktop bugs (one new
not-so-scary bug added today).
We've made some headway on a few scary bugs, but no zbr yet and no
branching yet. We have several patches pending, and will branch when we
get the patches in and have only the 3 hard-to-reproduce issues. (Two we
have fixes for in theory, but are hard to validate; one remains mysterious).
We expect to branch tomorrow or Wednesday. In the meantime, help us with
these bugs, or help with general testing (see cases below). We also
have lots of wiki docs to review -- see the general list.
Bug Overview
------------
*Threading*
Bug 9920 is the threading bug. We suspect two bugs are related:
- Bug 10401 "NoSuchAttributeError" for "CalendarSelection...
- Bug 10391 Traceback when starting chandler
Grant and Heikki are working on a patch, which we'd like Andi to review
(and possibly test out) as well.
*Deleted collections*
Bug 10444 (incorrect subindex on trash collection) was fixed this
afternoon by Jeffrey; we suspect it was the root problem with two bugs:
- Bug 10435 Index error on repo
- Bug 10402 Adhoc and other index errors
Andi has a patch on 10435 that improves repair and prevents one class of
index errors from happening silently.
It would be great to be able to have a clear set of steps to reproduce
these two bugs (without the fix), to validate the theory. We know the
bugs happened when deleting collections, with some combination of
creating recurring modifications, unmodifying them and/or adding the
series to the trash.
*Unknown EIM translation*
Bug 10384 ("Unknown EIM translation problem" error when syncing) is the
3rd hard-to-reproduce bug. What we know:
- events in a single collection (plus the Dashboard), no alarms.
- all started stamped as anytime events + tasks
- unstamped their eventness to remove them from the calendar and marked
changed their status to done.
*Triage*
Bug 10171 (Shared recurring events marked DONE are triaged NOW in error)
has a fix from Jeffrey, which needs some tweaking before committing. We
expect to see this fix tomorrow.
*Calendar/Recurrence odds and ends*
Grant has two bugs that are not especially scary, we expect fixes in the
next day or so:
- Bug 10417 Attribute Error deleting a shared collection
- Bug 10456 Changing Custom Alarm
And the 10th bug is Bear's task to upgrade plugins on cheeseshop.
Areas that could use more testing
---------------------------------
1. Updating items in shared collections by multiple people . Add to
this, updating the same item by a different user from Cosmo web UI
and validating the change to item and byline in Chandler.
2. Creating recurring events in shared collections and copying them
to other shared collections. Creating multiple exceptions in the
series with all the recurrence change options.
3. Stamping recurring events as mail and sending invites to more than
1 person. Updating these sent/received items by senders and receivers.
4. Updating triage status of recurring events in shared collections.
5. Modifying recurring events from the Dashboard (not calendar canvas)
6. Downloading mail and draggging them to different folders and
having them updated.
