there are certainly small differences that i'm aware of, but the
highlights are as similar as they need to be to expressively sync
desktop items to the server and share them to another desktop. we
don't both work off of the exact same logical model, but the server
team informally mimics what the desktop team does to the extent that
we find it useful.
