May be I used too much words but when I said "it should continue to say
"Preview" as long as we feel it doesn't have the 1.0 feature set." that
implied in my mind that the first non-Preview release would be 1.0, hence 3)

Not so clear, but seems clear that 0.7.2 ain't the time to make changes.
Moving the bug to 0.7.future to address it again at some later date.
