Here is a 2nd Pass at a design proposal for Thunderbird plugin.
Brian, I've tweaked some of the verbiage, so please review carefully.
Not sure if it's worth doing the 'custom context menu text' in #5 below.

1. Add 'Set up Chandler Account' to the Tools>>Add-ons menu
As Brian pointed out, we need a way for users to change their account
info if they ever change their username / password info. Also, we
need a way for users to change which collection messages get added
to. Plan of record is to simply swap out the 'Set up Chandler
Account' menu text with 'Update Chandler Account', which will take
users to the 1st screen of the account setup wizard, pre-populated
with the settings they entered to set up the account in the first
place. From there users can either update their account info and/or
change the collection messages are added to.
2. Screen 1: Enter account info
Introduction text with link to sign up for a Hub account if you
haven't already.
2a. Select Chandler Hub
+ Enter user name + password
2b. Select Chandler Server
+ Enter path
+ Enter user name + password
+ Enter port, [ ] SSL
BUTTONS
+ Cancel button
+ Greyed out Previous button
+ Active Next button (highlighted by default)
3. Screen 2: Select collection you'd like to add messages to.
BUTTONS
+ Cancel button
+ Active Previous button
+ Active Next button (highlighted by default)
4. Screen 3: Confirmation that account set up was successful +
instructions on how to add messages to designated Chandler collection.
5. Add - Add to xxx on Chandler Hub to the Message and Context menus
below 'Mark'
- xxx = collection name
- Chandler Hub should be replaced by Chandler Server if that's the
kind of account the user set up.
- Nice to have: Add sub-menu to select from a list of available
collections
6. Nice to have: Add a 'Chandler' toolbar button.
- Even nicer to have: Toolbar button + pulldown to select from a
list of available collections
7. Nice to have: Add a 'Chandler' column to the list view so that
users can just mark up items they want to send to Chandler in-place.
