I'm not 100% sure, but I believe this email from Amazon (to an OSAF
administrative email) indicates that the existing Amazon plugin for
Chandler Desktop will stop working at the end of March.
The plugin can only be made to work again by porting it to the Amazon
ECS 4.0 API, which is on no one's radar or work plan. Volunteers are
of course welcome.
Without a scheduled fix, the plugin should probably be removed from
OSAF svn trunk and from the Cheeseshop.

Subject: Amazon ECS 3.0: Important Migration Reminder
Greetings,
We are writing to remind you that the Amazon E-Commerce Web Service
3.0 will be deprecated on March 31st, 2008. Our monitoring indicates
that your Subscription Id was passed into calls to Amazon E-Commerce
Service 3.0 between February 17th and 24th, 2008. After March 31st,
2008, we will no longer accept Amazon ECS 3.0 requests. Please
upgrade to the Amazon Associates Web Service (previously called
Amazon E-Commerce Web Service 4.0) by then to ensure that you or
your customers are not affected by the deprecation (if you migrated
your application after February 24th, 2008, you will be unaffected).
Please also note that none of the links you generate from Associates
Central are affected by the deprecation. Any links, widgets or
banner ads that you may have on your site will continue to function
after March 31st.
The Amazon ECS 3.0 deprecation was announced a year ago in February
2007, and has had complete feature and data parity with the Amazon
Associates Web Service 4.0 since June 2006 (Version: 2006-06-28). We
will re-invest the existing maintenance effort saved by
discontinuing Amazon ECS 3.0 into Amazon Associates Web Service 4.0
to allow for the introduction of more features and capabilities.
In preparation of the March 31st shutdown, the Amazon ECS 3.0 web
service will be unavailable between:
10am and 2pm PST on March 4th, 2008; and
10am and 4pm PST on March 11th and 18th, 2008
Please refer to the migration guide for assistance in mapping Amazon
ECS 3.0 calls to their Amazon Associates Web Service 4.0
equivalents. Please use the Amazon Associates Web Service forum to
ask technical questions and share answers with your fellow developers.
We thank you for being part of Amazon's developer community and look
forward to your continued support.
Sincerely,
The Amazon Web Services Team
