Hi Everyone,
I did a search and didn't see an obvious existing bug, but before I
possibly duplicate an existing bug report, I thought I'd ask here if
this scenario is covered and to solicit feedback.
Current behavior
1. Create an item stamped as event
2. Change the date of the event item to a date one week in the past
3. Set the item's recurrence to daily (any recurrence except none
will behave the same)
4. Note in the table view that occurences of the test item appear in
the Now, Later, and Done sections.
5. Select either the Now or Later occurrence.
6. Unstamp the item as event, and when prompted, press All Events
7. Note in the detail view that in the header, only a triage status
of [Now | Later] and the item's title is visible. The stamp buttons
and byline are not visible.
This part just sounds like a bug (and one that keeps recurring -- so
to speak :).
8. Also note in the table view that there is no row for this item in
the Now or Later sections.
9. Select any other item.
10. Note in the table view that single occurrence of the formerly
recurring event item is in the Done section with a triage status of
Done.
The same behavior occurs when viewing a calendar canvas. Even though
malformed, the residual display of a Now or Later triage status
reasonably suggests that to make further edits to this item one
should be able to find it in the Now or Later sections of the table
view. However, it will be in the Done section. Even as a long time
Chandler user, I though at first the items were disappearing
completely. If the Done occurrence is unstamped as event, then Done
is Done is Done.
Suggested behavior: On the removal of the event stamp from a Now or
Later occurence of a recurring item, retain the Now or Later
occurence respectively (instead of the Done occurence).
Arguably, we should retain all Now/Later occurrences. (Though in
practice there will often be just one).
