I'm not sure what it would take to make this kind of integration work. I am sending this to the Chandler-Dev list to see if one of the developers can provide a more technical answer.
This was working on the Mac at one point. It looks like we haven't kept up with wx changes that changed the behavior from always highlighting to allowing different fields to turn on/off highlighting.
I've filed http://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12228 to track the issue.
