We met this morning to talk about the competing priorities between
providing developer support for our current user base as well as
trying to move forward with the desktop re-architecture project. Both
Grant and Jeffrey require some uninterrupted time dive into the re-
architecture project allowing us to draft up a more detailed plan and
figure out how to fit in continued desktop releases. We agreed upon
the following...
+ We are going to release a Chandler Desktop 1.0.2 now with a sharing/
synching fix for the iPhone app users and some minor bug fixes that
have been made already to the code base. We won't be addressing any
additional bugs for 1.0.2. Mimi and Sheila will be responsible for the
testing 1.0.2.
+ We have decided to put any further notification work on hold for a
month or so. The feature is available experimentally and we encourage
people to help us test and will log problems. We will take advantage
of Randy's time to fix some issues but we won't continue with any
further UI work or address the Safari issue for the time being. Once
we have a better idea of the architecture schedule we will pick this
back up later.
+ We will put any further Chandler Desktop releases on hold (provided
we don't run into anything catastrophic) giving us some time to ramp
up the re-architecture work. This basically means we will release
1.0.2 now and give Grant and Jeffrey a few weeks to dive into the
architecture project before we talk about further 1.0.x releases.
+ Most of the user support will be handled by Mimi with help from
others (people on the list and myself) and we will bring in Grant and
Jeffrey as critical issues emerge. This includes directing people on
IRC to the users list.
I hope I got everything.
Cheers,
Sheila
