You can also try the same path trick by setting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH
environment variable to debug this. Be sure that it's trying to load the
libraries you think it's loading. Are you sure your chandler build is
64-bit, for example ? Are you sure you have the libraries not found
installed ? Are you sure all the libraries they depend on are also
installed ? (use 'ldd' or the freebsd equivalent (otool on Mac, for example)
to list a shared library's dependencies).

I have added this to
chandler/external/PyLucene/PyLucene-2.3.1-3-418/jcc/config.py under
LFLAGS

The current version of JCC has this entry for LFLAGS for freebsd7 [1]:

The -Wl,-rpath setting should help the dynamic linker locate libjava.so at
runtime. The JDK setting is the root of your JDK install. From this, you
should heopfully be able to extrapolate what the correct settings for your
setup should be.

But I cannot tell where this portion of the buid process is looking
for libjava.so, I put coppies in the site-packages directory, but
still no luck. Does anyone have any advice?
