Trying to launch it just give the same error message and > then it quits. … I can't start Chandler now that the error recurs. > @ Alison Whenever you normally exit from Chandler, do you see the following dialogue? http://n2.nabble.com/file/n2177803/Chandler%2Bis%2Bshutting%2Bdown.png If you did not skip, if you do always allow those routine back ups, then when Chandler Desktop was last well behaved, the back up-at-exit-time routine would have routinely exported all good things (your entire life) to a file named: backup.chex Re the eight screen shots at <http://chandlerproject.org/Journal/GrahamPerrin20090106> the eight shot, the eighth option, is the route that you may take to importing all good things from that backup.chex file. The expression 'Discard all my data and restore from a previous snapshot' is disconcerting. If the backup.chex file from your Chandler's most recent *normal* exit and backup is good (with all your good things within) then importing from that backup.chex (restoring from that snapshot) should have pleasing results. I had to resort to this eighth option only once, it was surprisingly pleasing. But as the dialogue says, it does take a few minutes :) The first point of reference when startup troubles occur should be <http://chandlerproject.org/Projects/TroubleshootChandler> but thanks to Mimi the other day we have already established that some of the eight startup options are insufficient. I should aim for the eighth.
