Hurm. Yes, a plain html/javascript page which does what the google
widget does would be more agnostic wrt re-purposing. Like most things,
i've had something similar on my plate to create for some time, but,
time is time, and i never have enough.

But i'd bet that re-doing the google widget in a non-google way
wouldn't be _too_ time consuming... For somebody else!
