I think his problem is during installation, so he doesn't get as far as being able to launch a desktop. Presumably this is something that was intended to aid migration from PPC to Intel mac that is not wanting to take no for an answer. George, I'm stumped by this one, I'm afraid and I can't find anyone else reporting a similar problem.
