These allow you to clean up the data to varying degrees before opening - of course the more you "clean" it, the more the chance that it will discard something you actually want, but that's not a problem because the next time you synchronise with the hub it should put your data back. The other way is to save a .chex file from your good installation copy it across to the bad one, and then restore from that when you open Chandler. If you are synchronising the two machines using the hub, it's a good precaution to do a backup to a .chex file there before you start trying to restore things, because sometimes the synchronising goes the wrong way and the bad data gets written to the hub.
