The U.S. holidays is an example of a subscribed collection, where you see what another person has posted. To remove a subscribed collection, select it's name on the left side of the screen (U.S. Holidays), and then use the dropdown menu Share>Unsubscribe. This procedure will work with any collection you've previously subscribe to.
