Regrettably, it seems that there has been no active development since the 1.0 release; very sad because I don't find anything else that does exactly this.
The history of the project is that it was funded by Mitch Kapor with the aim of becoming his dream PDA; after years of development with no release he decided to terminate the funding. The development team then released a minimalistic stripped down version as 1.0, just before the team dissolved. The obstacle to community development is apparently that because of the aim for it to be a very fully featured program, it includes all the infrastructure for a far larger piece of software, much of which is not used. Realising that this would make it nearly impossible for anyone not on the original development team to pick it up, a major re-architecture project was started before the dissolution of the team, but was unfortunately not sufficiently complete for use. AFAIK, the only current activity of the Chandler project is to maintain the server and it seems that unless some really talented and determined individual decides to take on the challenge, there will be no further development. A sad illustration of how difficult it is to make the transition from full time paid developers to community development.
