The level of participation and responsibility within the project team will be driven by the candidate's level of skills, experience, and desire. The position requires critical abilities: • Plan and conduct system, unit, and integration testing. • Create, verify, and close defects based on defect tracking process. • Willing to accept direction and training from other team members, yet independent enough to complete all tasks on time Essential Duties and Responsibilities. • Knowledge of Software Quality Assurance methodologies and application of those methodologies. • Ability to work with external vendors. Overall: • Attends design and other reviews and walkthroughs • Translates business requirements into test requirements • Develops and maintains test scenarios • Creates and maintains test plans, cases/scripts, use cases, traceability matrix and various testing checklists • Manages test effort against project schedule • Develops and executes system, integration and regression testing for assigned projects • Documents and tracks defects throughout the test effort • Analyzes test results to identify defect trends • Resolves application discrepancies with technical personnel and retests as required • Performs post-implementation validation • Reviews test results with project stakeholders • Obtains business sign off on the test effort • Prepares test data and environments • Reports test status and issues to the QA manager in a timely fashion • Identifies test cases for re-use on future projects • Assists team members as needed Interpersonal skills • Ability to be self-directed and work independently with other vendors to understand the software and testing needs. • Outstanding communication skills – formal verbal and written communications, and with the personality and authority to communicate professionally, effectively and sensitively with a wide range of senior management, users and IT personnel • Strong team player skills. Adept at working in a smaller organizations with fewer resources and less structure • Possess nimble, creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and customer mindsets. • Ability to deal with users at all levels, including management and business experts in a professional manner. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Exhibits knowledge and research ability to incorporate emerging industry and technology practices when solving business problems. • Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of and supporting Company’s electronic communication software. • Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards. • Uphold Company’s core values. • Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager. • Maintain technical and business knowledge by attending educational workshops, classes or programs. • Conduct self-according to policies/Handbook. CUSTOMERS: Internal: Shoe users, developers and project management staff and supporting businesses External: Software Vendors, Sales reps, Shoe Customers EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in Computer Science, Math or related technical or analytical field from four-year college or university and three to five years related experience/training as a QA. REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR KNOWLEDGE: Software testing skills, extensive knowledge of software applications, in-depth knowledge of business practices in supported functions, time management and Systems Analysis & Design skills. Proven experience in design, development and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.
