Our client, a reputable, growing company is looking for a Sr. Java

Developer to join their team in Stevens Point, WI on a contract basis. The

contract is scheduled to run 1 year, and there is possibility for

extension. In this role, you will work with customers and team members to

understand business needs and deliver solutions. You'll design, develop

and test the functional requirements and deliver a working solution. As a

Sr. Java Developer, you will: Work on a strategic project replacing their

legacy policy administration system; Work on cross-functional project

teams using an iterative/agile development methodology; Develop detailed

designs; Develop and unit test solutions; Be a team player and assist

where needed; and work on a batch application for the first couple of

months, using Java, Eclipse, SQL Server and Hibernate.



Requirements:

* 5-10 years of Java development experience.

* Must have strong experience in ALL of the following: Java 1.6.x, Eclipse

4.2, SQL Server 2012, Hibernate 3.

* Iterative / Agile development methodology.

* Must have EXCELLENT verbal and written communication skills.

* Insurance industry experience is a STRONG PLUS.

HEADLINE: Sr. Java Dev w/5-10 yrs. of Java dev; strong exp. in ALL of the

Iterative/Agile dev methodology; & EXCELLENT verbal & written

communication skills; who will work in Stevens Point, WI on a 1+ yr.

contract.



They will commit to a 1-yr. contract, and there's possibility for

extension. The resume submittal deadline to the client is EOB on Friday,

2/7. They will start with a phone interview and then do a Skype interview.

They are looking to make a decision and start someone ASAP. 5-10 years of

experience. Insurance industry experience is a strong plus, and candidates

with this experience who are a technical fit will get ranked higher than

other candidates. This person should be on the developer track and be a

"doer" vs. at the architect level. There is a primary project of moving

reporting to 1 source, but they'll eventually be moved to other projects

that will require them to do tool-driven, automated regression testing and

web services. They will be on a structured team of 5-10 members to include

technical leads, project managers, etc. So, they are in a structured

environment, and they use the Agile development methodology. This person

should be able to ask the right questions. Communication skills are very

important, as they will have remote interaction with their regional

offices, and they also have an offshore/onshore model.
