Job Summary

The Data and Business Intelligence Architect is a two-fold position with
the responsibility of being both the Data Architect and Business
Intelligence Architect.

The Data Architect is responsible for expanding the Company’s use of data
as a strategic enabler of corporate goals and objectives. The architect
acts as the primary advocate of data governance and data management best
practices to ensure all data is defined and used consistently across all
systems. The Data Architect also acts as the primary advocate of data
modeling methodologies best practices, by strategically reviewing and
creating data models for enterprise-level applications and systems. The
Architect provides advanced technical support to the research,
experimentation, business analysis and use of systems technology including
architecture, integration capabilities and database management.

As a Business Intelligence (BI) Architect, this position will bring crucial
analytics and ad hoc reporting solutions to all lines of business. Accurate
business intelligence often equals competitive advantage in the market, and
this position will be the data warehouse expert. Expertise in relational
and multidimensional database schemas is a must. The efforts of this
position will be focused on two broad areas: working with representatives
from our corporate IT group, create and maintain a data warehouse that
exposes disparate data repositories to the BI platform and participate in
the development and support of BI reporting objects.

Responsibilities
• Provides technical and data leadership to the application development
group, IT and the enterprise including being conversant with and cognizant
of the future direction of systems, how that direction will impact the
enterprise, and how future and current systems can be exploited for the
benefit of the enterprise
• Works closely with other IT groups to coordinate current and future plans
and activities, including coordination and technical assistance to
facilitate specific development projects that involve the computing
environment, the coordination of software upgrades and the installation of
new products
• Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and
procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed,
especially regarding future business expansion
• Participates in the development of data centric strategies, solutions,
and systems design
• Defines vision, strategy, and principles for data management
• Defines standards for naming, describing, governing, managing, modeling,
cleansing, enriching, transforming, moving, storing, searching and
delivering all data within the enterprise
• Serves as a liaison between data consumer representatives and data
solution development, integration and governance teams
• Informs and interprets data project sponsors
• Must understand how data is, or will be used, and implication on people,
processes, products and technology
• Model and develop OLAP cubes
• Leverage technical expertise of peers and external resources as needed to
ensure high-quality, effective solutions are delivered.
• Determine the feasibility of solutions, make recommendations, perform
analysis, program and test activities as required.
• Ensure development team is conforming to documented standards and add to
these standards as the need arises
• Authors technical and functional specifications associated with data
architecture and associated solutions.
• Works with the Database Administration team to design tables, queries,
and packages to obtain information from and send information to remote
databases


Skills

Anadarko currently has 10-12 internal applications that they need help with
supporting. This will be 80% bug fixes/support and 20% development. This
percentage could vary from day to day though. Primary responsibilities will
include troubleshooting production issues with several applications and
implementing bug fixes, as well as develop solutions to help support
production applications such as monitoring and logging enhancements, and
internal tools to help streamline the entire support process. The initial
term will be through the end of the year, but may extend longer based on

Pool Corporation is looking for C# developer with 3-5 years experience.
This person will primarily be working to make enhancements and add new
features to Pool 360. Pool 360 is Pool Corporation's online inventory
ordering website that also provides, invoicing, reports, etc. for their
customers. Pool Corporation does two major releases of Pool 360 a year with
different changes/enhancements that customers request. This person will be
spending most of their time working on these changes. The candidate should
have experience with C#, SQL Server 2008, and some type of .Net web
development. They should have experience with at least one of the following
JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, or CSS. The candidate should be comfortable
providing good documentation and writing their own test scripts for unit
testing. This person will also be developing within other applications such
as PMM which is a Windows based application Pool Corp uses to manage
pricing of products and Perceptive which is a property management software
they use to manage branch location properties.

2014 Projects: new framework re-write for Pool360 as .Net Nuke is being
discontinued, creating individual Pool360 sites for each country and
customizing it per country, software updates for the France release of
Pool360, and the implementation of a Transportation Management System.

*Work Environment:*

The Candidate will report directly To Vincent Showers (Applications
Manager). Vincent is laid back, introverted, AND someone that is
approachable. Candidate will be working within a team of 5 people. The
hours are flexible - team members come in anywhere between 7:30 and 8:30,
but if you arrive after 9 it is looked down upon. Team members leave
anywhere from 4:30 To 5:30. They try not to work overtime, but if there is
a deadline they must meet the team has no problem with staying late to meet
the deadline. The dress code is business casual, but if you donate $1 on
Thursdays you can wear jeans, and you can wear jeans on Fridays without
donating anything. The Candidate will sit with the 5 other software
engineers and will work in a tall cubicle.

*Interview Information:*

The intial interview will be with Ryan Ford (Lead Developer), and Vincent
Showers (Applications Director). The interview is fairly informal and will
be in the corporate office confrence room. Both interviewers will be asking
questions. Ryan will be asking mostly technical questions base on the
candidates past experiences. Ryan will also be screening to figure out if
the candidate would fit in well with the team. Vincent will be asking more
behavioral questions and trying to make sure the candidate will be a
cultural fit.
