*Role: VB.NET <http://VB.NET> DEVELOPERLocation: East Hartford, CT Duration: 1 years* *Project Description* The current Judicial Branch Criminal application is used by the Magistrates, Clerks, Prosecutors, and Marshalls of the Connecticut Superior Courts to evaluate, judge, and process criminal and motor vehicle cases. The existing legacy Criminal application is being converted from an OpenVMS (RMS) file system to a .NET Web application with a relational SQL Server 2012 database backend. The successful candidate would be able to analyze the user stories and perform the coding and testing for the development of functional components of the web application using .NET with the Microsoft MVC framework. Scope of Services *The scope of services required for the Software Engineer includes:* 1. Working independently with supervisory guidance to develop web application objects using Microsoft Visual Studio 2012, VB.Net, Microsoft MVC 4.0 and Entity framework. 2. Coding database data access layer objects using SQL Server stored procedures, views and SSIS packages to interact with SQL Server 2012 databases. 3. Being able to build and deploy web application components using Microsoft Team Foundation Server. 4. Performing comprehensive unit testing, system integration and performance testing. 5. Being able to interact successfully with other project team members and contribute to team sessions for determining solutions to technical issues. 6. Working within coding standards. 7. Writing clear and concise technical documentation. 8. Sharing ideas as part of the project team that provides solutions to technical issues. 9. Minimal travel (short distances) may be required to attend meetings with the business customers. 10. Presentation skills to explain and transfer knowledge and mentor other team members. 11. Preparation of periodic status reports. *Minimum Qualifications* Minimum nine (9)+ years of experience in application and database design and programming. *Specific Experience:* 1. Minimum of five (5) years of experience using VB.NET. 2. Minimum of three (3) years of experience using VSTS. Knowledge of Visual Studio 2012 preferred. 3. Familiarity with or use of TFS. 4. Minimum of two (2) years of experience using the Microsoft MVC framework. 5. Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with SQL Server databases using views, stored procedures and functions. 6. Proven written and verbal communication skills. 7.
