*Position:  Data Migration LeadLocation:  Chicago, ILDuration:  March 27
with possible extension*

*Data architect/DBA skills, SQL Server, SSIS, data modeling. * The
re-engineered application will be a .NET application, and data will be
house in SQL Server tables.

This resource would be an on-site full-time resource. This person would
lead the data migration effort of our Re-Engineer Car Repair Billing
project.  The Re-Engineer Car Repair Billing project is replacing a ported
Invoicing application (from the mainframe) with an open systems solution.

*Some of the tasks that this resource would be responsible for and the
skills that we would be looking for in this individual are as follows:*

   - Create the physical data model
   - Develop data migration strategy
   - Execute data migration approach along with the developers
   - Interact with lead developers who will be creating the logical model
   - Migration validation and user coordination
   - Must have good communication skills
   - Must be able to work independently
   - Must be a quick learner
   - Must be able to keep things simple and not over-engineer
   - Able to work with quick deadlines


*These are additional notes from the Hiring Manager:The resource will be
responsible for the following tasks:*

   - Update existing data model to support new project phases
   - Work with the technical leads to determine what data changes are needed
   - Manage task assignments with 2 offshore data resources, including some
   evening calls
   - Develop and implement historic data migration plan pulling from
   multiple locations, mapping data, recommendations solutions where there is
   not a one for one mapping…
   - Implement change data capture (CDC)
   - Recommend and oversee performance improvements.
   - Work with data architect to gain approval for stored procedures and
   data model updates
   - Identify data model changes that impact existing reports, downstream
   applications and enterprise data warehouse

*Skills that are import to the project:*

   - Independent worker who can identify what needs to be done and work
   with minimal direction
   - Fast learner who can come up to speed and start contributing quickly
   - Shares their opinion but can support decisions they would not recommend
   - Ability to explain context to non-technical people
   - Team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done
   - Technical knowledge
