The Architect will work closely with Project Managers, Business Analyst and other IT groups; providing technical leadership for integration efforts involving distributed Enterprise Applications and Data Integration platform. The Integration and Middleware Architect will report to the Director Customer Application CoE. The Cognizant iWay Support will handle any processing issues on an 1st and 2nd level. This team is active 24x7. 3rd level support will be provided by both the iWay Architects and Developers, both Internal and external. Technical issues will be handled by the US and European teams, depending on the time the issue occurred. Data issues will be handled by specific teams depending on the location of the involved customer. Besides operational support the A2A Architect will also be responsible for the processing and implementation of enhancement and change requests. Finally the Architect may also be requested to assist in the development or support of EDI iWay Interfaces, and local Custom Applications, depending on the capacity required in these areas. *Key Responsibilities:* Design and deployments of application components that are standards based, high performance, highly available, low maintenance, and comply with operational standards and procedures. Provide leadership and demonstrate ownership of the integration platform for consistent usage across projects. Understand the business and customer needs to introduce technical solutions that enlarge the capabilities of the middleware platform. Lead the team for integration/performance testing based on integration and test plan, support UAT and make sure that the interfaces are defect free, have an adequate performance and reliability. Enhance Middleware governance based on best practices and ensure proper alignment business and major initiatives. Understand and contribute to Enterprise IT strategies; adhere to compliance regulations and development guidelines. Oversee and resolve issues relating to security gateway and agency adapter platform, and the associated application and data integration initiatives relying on these environments Prepare senior level technical reports for executive management Manage special technology projects and initiatives as assigned. Continuous improvement of existing development, testing, and documentation standards and best practices *Key competencies and qualifications:* University level degree on bachelor level or beyond 5 year’s experience designing and developing J2EE and/or middleware applications 3 years providing project oversight and management on projects with an integration component. Strong knowledge of XML Technologies (XML, XSL, XSD) Experience implementing message flows using a variety of nodes in message broker Experience with Oracle databases, SQL and PL/SQL; LDAP directories Experience with designing applications using iWay service manager or similar middleware products Ability to plan technical architecture and develop documentation Solid knowledge of testing tools and techniques Experienced with formal SDLCs and business analysis methodologies and possess knowledge of business analysis documentation standards Demonstrated experience working with technical and non-technical staff Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs Outstanding collaboration and team building skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent analytic, organization, presentation and facilitation skills Ability to manage multiple parallel tasks under tight deadlines The ability to interface with executive level management and give senior level presentations.
