*Position: EDI Developer / Analyst* *Location: Newark, CA* *Duration: 6+ Months contract* *Need Locals to CA Only* “We had an opportunity come up after we chatted today to bring in a resource to support our current EDI environment (IBM Gentran). This will be a 40hr a week opportunity and we’re looking for someone to be onsite, working with our EDI developers.” *Job Description: EDI Developer / Analyst - Contractor* *Position Description* We’re looking for someone who loves to work with people and technology. If you have 7 or more years in integrating eCommerce solutions with SAP ERP systems, great communication skills, and a positive attitude this job is for you. You will be joining a team of IT professionals dedicated to supporting the business initiatives which include new EDI and eCommerce integration projects, and EDI production support (supporting existing relationships and onboarding new customers). This position requires a strong track record supporting an EDI environment integrated with a SAP ERP system. The candidate should be well versed in mapping various data sources (not limited to EDI X12, XML, flat file) to and from SAP IDOCs. A background in manufacturing and distribution would be preferable, as would the successful completion of at least 5 EDI partner implementations with multiple maps. *Position Responsibilities:* - Manage IT vendor relationships with eCommerce providers including EDI VAN providers and eCommerce Portal partners - Manage Technical relationships with customers and vendors as related to eCommerce transactions. - Perform EDI mapping for new B2B partners and EDI monitoring for existing B2B partners - Work with SAP Business Systems analysts and business users to determine business requirements and perform system changes as required by the business - Follow best practices in development methodology. Document changes in EDI maps as required by IT Change Management Policies and Procedures. - Proven experience with multiple data transfer methods such as VAN, FTP (with PGP), and AS2. - Perform on-site and remote support to existing systems, problem resolution, system solutions and subsequent enhancements to prevent reoccurrence. - Provide 24x7 on call support, as necessary. - Recommend new hardware and software solutions to keep the company up-to-date on eCommerce and data integration technology. *Job Requirements:* - B.S. in Business or Computer Science or equivalent work experience required. - Expert knowledge (at least 7 years) in a variety of *EDI mapping protocols using IBM Gentran Tools (version 4.2 or greater)* - At least 5 years of *SAP experience*. - Strong planning, organizing, communication and presentation skills. - Ability to work proficiently with little daily guidance. - Remote user support experience. - Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. *Desirable Qualifications:* - Knowledge of Sterling/IBM and GXS services is a plus - Proficiency in Java, PHP and Perl coding a plus - 2+ years administrating Windows Servers. - 5 years of business experience with a focus on finance, materials management, or supply chain. - Participate in at least one successful Sarbanes-Oxley IT Controls documentation audit.
