Experience creating scalable and high-performance web services. Knowledge in multi-threading and concurrency concepts. Writing high-performance, reliable and maintainable code. Ability to write MapReduce jobs and Pig Latin scripts. Hands on experience in HiveQL. Familiarity with data loading tools like Flume, Sqoop. Knowledge of workflow/schedulers like Oozie. Analytical and problem solving skills, applied to Big Data domain. Modeling data for NoSQL data stores and building applications around them. Good knowledge of database structures, theories, principles and practices. Cloudera or Hortonworks certified. Key Responsibilities Guide the full lifecycle of a Hadoop solution, including requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development, testing, and deployment. Gather and process raw data at scale (including writing scripts, web scraping, calling APIs, write SQL queries, etc.). Test prototypes and oversee handover to operational teams. Draw conclusions and effectively communicate findings with both technical and non-technical team members.
