During development, we found a contention issue between Grails 2.1.4 and Java Client v.1.8 (can’t run the local server, Java doesn’t support older Grails 2.1.4). We are currently holding off the Java Client upgrade to v.1.8 for the WAS server that the Grails app will reside until we can resolve contention. Looking to upgrade Grails application to v.2.5.5 or higher, which we understand to be compatible with Java v.1.8 and are running into upgrade issues to Grails 2.5.5. Would like to know more about needed application changes to upgrade Grails app from 2.1.4 to at least 2.5.5 (which is supported by Java 1.8). We also found out that Grails 3.x.x is not compatible with Spring Suite (STS) which we use for our development environment. What is the direction of Grails and Spring Suite support?
