Our client is seeking an IT System Administrator –
Infrastructure/Application Monitoring to join their team in Harrisburg, PA
.  The IT System Administrator – Infrastructure/Application Monitoring
performs setup, execution, monitoring and problem determination in support
of the client’s performance monitoring software.  The IT System
Administrator – Infrastructure/Application Monitoring is skilled and works
with minimal direction from senior team members.

*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Application System Monitoring *
·        Interpret requirements; implement metric collection, alerts, and
reports based on existing guidelines.
·        Adhere to standards, policies and procedures regarding the use of
monitoring software in all environments.
·        Responsible for developing detail design, execution and
troubleshooting of strategic solution in support of effective systems
monitoring, alerting, escalation, automation, reporting and event
correlation.
·        Participate in the implementation of new systems and services.
·        Setup and maintain monitoring solutions (i.e. agents, servers,
scripts, etc) and dashboards used to view status reported by monitors.
·        Troubleshoot moderate to complex problems that may arise, getting
to the root cause to facilitate solving the issues.
·        Recommend solutions to issues and/or application improvements.
·        Upgrade Implementation and Communication
·        Assist with keeping relevant software up-to-date with releases and
patches.

*QUALIFICATIONS   EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum qualifications: *
·        Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
·        At least two to four years of experience in a large, complex
enterprise application development environment doing analysis and
troubleshooting or equivalent combination of training, experience and
knowledge.
·        Knowledgeable with Relational databases and Structured Query
Language (SQL) concepts.
·        Knowledgeable with HP SiteScope, CA Application Performance
Management (APM), CA Customer Experience Manager (CEM), CA Unified
Infrastructure Manager (UIM), and/or Splunk, or with other commercial
off-the-shelf technology (COTS) application and infrastructure monitoring
tools and concepts.
·        Effective communication skills necessary to make yourself
understood when speaking about technical subjects.
·        Ability to organize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
·        Ability to analyze moderately complex information to draw
alternative conclusions.
·        Self-starter with an aptitude to learn new technology quickly.
·        Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to focus
attention on details.
·        Developed analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
·        Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite.

*Preferred Qualification:*
·        Advanced knowledge with WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
·        Advanced knowledge with Web or COMPASS business applications.
·        Advanced knowledge of any scripting language (i.e. .NET,
JavaScript, ActionScript, Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Hypertext
Preprocessor (PHP), Perl, Python, etc.).
·        Advanced knowledge of Java programming and application frameworks.


*PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT *
·        This position requires participation in a 24x7x365 on-call
rotation.  On-call requires carrying a cell-phone and responding to calls
within the agreed upon timeframe set within client’s standards.  Internet
connectivity from home is required as part of the on-call rotation.
·        Flexible for occasional off-site travel required
