Kindly review the job description below and see if itmight be an option worth considering. *Position*: Technical Planning Engineer *Duration*: 9+Months *Location*: Remote/Austin, TX Visa: GC, GC EAD or Citizen Phone/Skype Must Have 10 years exp *Technical Planning & Readiness Engineer* *Job Description* The role of Technical Planning/Readiness Engineer is for an individual who the right combination of deep technical knowledge of multi-tenant data center operations coupled with data center closure and consolidation planning and execution. The person in this job plans all technical aspects of client migrations related to data center consolidation activities for Dell’s customer. This person will work within established program frameworks to perform migration planning activities related to firewalls, routers, switches, and monitoring systems. Upon completion of planning activities, this person will then turn migration playbooks over to technical team to execute migration activities. *Job Duties* Work directly with program technical team and Dell’s customer to gain deep technical understanding of data center environments, client connectivity, and established migration strategies. Perform deep dive inventory of client connectivity to purchased data center services related to firewall, load balancer, routers, and switch configurations. Create detailed playbooks related to migration events on a “per-client” basis. Assist with creating change management request for migration events Update post-migration Visio diagrams for Dell customer Update established migration processes *Job Qualifications* *Knowledge of:* Strong understanding of multi-vendor data center architecture and operations MPLS and BGP protocols and operations Data Center migration strategies and planning Campus network edge design and operations Wide Area Networking concepts *Ability to:* Quickly distill complex technical data center environments Work as a self-starter in a remote environment Prioritize time to ensure work products are delivered within prescribed program time frames Read and interpret complex technical diagrams, documents, and processes Communicate clearly and effectively using verbal and written media.
